DESCRIPTION:Per the City Charter\, “the members of the City Commission must be qualified to vote at city elections and must have resided within the city for not less than one (1) year preceding their nomination or candidacy for the office of commissioner\, and shall remain residents of the city for their respective terms of office.” \nAdditionally\, “qualifying paperwork includes filing of a petition signed by at least twenty-five (25) persons duly qualified to vote in the election with the city clerk\, paying a filing fee\, and a statement of residency.” \nThe qualifying period for the 2023 Auburndale Municipal Election is Monday\, September 18th\, at noon\, through Friday\, September 22nd\, at noon.  \nTo obtain a copy of the 2023 Municipal Candidate Qualification Packet\, and for instructions on submittal – please contact the City Clerk at bhenry@auburndalefl.com\, or by phone at (863) 965-5530\, Ext. 140. \nPLEASE BE AWARE THAT IT IS NOT THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CITY CLERK’S OFFICE TO INTERPRET FLORIDA STATUTES CONTAINED WITHIN FLORIDA LAW. Our new Adult Co-Ed Kickball Tournament will be a great time to get together with friends and teammates and compete for the number 1 spot. \nRegistration is open now until June 14\, online at http://apm.activecommunities.com/auburndaleparksrec/Activity_Search/397 \nTeams can register for $450 and must consist of 10-13 players. Teams are also required to have a minimum of 3 women per team. Players must be at least 16 years old. 2 games are guaranteed. Lunch and player gifts are provided. Last but not least\, there will be 1st and 2nd place prizes for the tournament. \nThe tournament will be on Saturday\, June 17\, starting at 9 AM\, located at the Lake Myrtle Youth Baseball Complex at 876 Braddock Rd\, Auburndale.

SUMMARY:National Medication Take Back Day
DESCRIPTION:National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is on Saturday\, April 22\, 2022\, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. This is an opportunity for citizens to dispose of unwanted\, unneeded\, and expired medications in a safe manner. \n\n\n\n\nThis effort is important to allow people to responsibly dispose of prescription drugs and eliminate the potential abuse of them. It also prevents pharmaceuticals from contaminating our lakes and ground water. Please do not dispose of prescription drugs by flushing them in the toilet. \n\n\n\nOur community’s Prescription Drug Take Back Day will take place at the Auburndale Police Department at 2 Bobby Green Plaza\, Auburndale\, FL. Citizens may turn in unused\, expired\, or unwanted human and pet medications\, as well as over the counter medications\, vitamins\, and other medication in liquid or solid form\, for proper disposal. There will be plastic bags provided on-site for medication disposal.\n\n
