Citizens Academy

The 2026 City of Auburndale Citizens Academy will be an interactive, immersive experience designed to give city residents an up-close look at their City government in action. It is open to city residents ages 18 and older. Class size is limited.

This civic education program is designed to provide citizens with a deeper understanding of how municipal government works with information about the daily operations and services provided by the City. The class meets weekly for seven (7) weeks starting in late-April, with a graduation ceremony on Monday, June 15^th, at the regularly held City Commission meeting.

The application period for the 2026 Citizens Academy is now open. The 2026 class will begin on April 21^st, 2026, with classes held each Tuesday through graduation on Monday, June 15^th. If you are interested in participating, please complete the application and submit it no later than 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 15^th, 2026. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
