City Commission Commends Auburndale High School Student-Athlete on State Title Win

On Monday, March 1, the Auburndale City Commission awarded Auburndale High School Student-Athlete Emily Hart with a commendation for winning the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) Class 2A State Title for girls weightlifting in the 119-pound division. On Saturday, February 13, Hart was named State Champion at the FHSAA Girls Weightlifting State Meet held in Live Oak, Florida. She lifted 150 pounds in the bench press and successfully lifted 170 pounds and 180 pounds in the clean-and-jerk competition.
