Local Family Commended for Response to Dog Attack

The City Commission gave a commendation to The Millan Family for their efforts responding to a child in danger on April 10, 2023. On that day, a four-year-old was attacked and seriously injured by a pit bull.

The Millan Family observed the attack and responded by forcing the animal to relinquish its bite. Emergency response was called to transport the child to Tampa General Hospital where they underwent surgery. Thanks to the response, that child survived the attack.

The City of Auburndale commends the Millan Family for this act of exceptional courage and selflessness to step into harm’s way and protect a child from a life-threatening situation.
